Meet Victoria

Victoria Cambranes is a first generation American, whose parents are from Guatemala and Poland. Her dad was an Electrical Engineer for the NYC Department of Environmental Protection and her mom was a housekeeper.

She grew up in Greenpoint, and attended grammar and middle school in Greenpoint and Williamsburg. Through her studies, she was able to get a full scholarship to Skidmore College, where she studied English and History. After finishing her Masters Degree at the University of York in England, she worked in Digital Marketing in London for six years. There, she built a name as a Rising Star in the Marketing Industry for her ability to work across silos and bring teams together from around the world.

But after the devastating results of the 2016 US election, she made the decision to come back home and fight for her local community.

She has been a witness to generations of unsustainable  overdevelopment, lack of proper planning, and the prioritization of property over people in NYC. She has also learned from other cities what works, what doesn't, and how a city's values are reflected in the daily lives of its inhabitants.

The stakes have never been higher, not just in DC, but right here in our own backyard. We need proactive champions of local community voices, those with a vision of how to move beyond neoliberal politics, and get things done for our generation and those yet to come.
